I am Professor of Ancient Philosophy at the University of Hamburg, Germany as well as an associate professor of philosophy at the University of California, Riverside (on leave).
My research area is Ancient Greek Philosophy, especially (but not exclusively) Aristotle, Plato, the Stoics, and recently also Plotinus. Although my current work focuses on ethics and moral psychology in Aristotle, I am interested in all aspects of Ancient Philosophy. My other philosophical interests include (but are not limited to) several historical figures (e.g., Augustine, Aquinas, Leibniz, Kant, Hegel, or Freud), (history of) ethics, aesthetics and philosophy of art, free will/philosophy of action, and early Chinese philosophy. |
